I just learned that human hair from China (Cysteine) is a common food additive. I am grossed out! Is

Production

Currently the cheapest source of material from which food grade L-cysteine may be purified in high yield is by hydrolysis of molecules in human hair. Other sources include feathers and pig bristles. The companies producing cysteine by hydrolysis are located mainly in China. There is some debate whether or not consuming L-cysteine derived from human hair constitutes cannibalism. Although many other amino acids were accessible via fermentation for some years, L-Cysteine was unavailable until 2001 when a German company ("Wacker Chemie"?) introduced a production route via fermentation (non-human, non-animal origin.

I hope not that is nasty.

I just learned that human hair from China (Cysteine) is a common food additive. I am grossed out! Is it true

Well, they eat dogs don't they?

I just learned that human hair from China (Cysteine) is a common food additive. I am grossed out! Is it true

I don't know about that.. But this is one of the many reasons i only eat foods I make from scratch.

I just learned that human hair from China (Cysteine) is a common food additive. I am grossed out! Is it true

It's an amino acid.. not hair.. found in hair and nails

cysteine

(s娌玸楹搕鑶縩) , organic compound, one of the 20 amino acids commonly found in animal proteins. Only the L-stereoisomer participates in the biosynthesis of mammalian protein. It is particularly abundant in the proteins of hair, hooves, and the keratin of the skin. Cysteine's importance is related to the presence of a sulfur-containing thiol group in its side chain. This group participates in the catalytic reactions of certain enzymes, such as that of papain, the enzyme from papaya latex used to make commercial meat tenderizers. The thiol group of one cysteine residue is capable of combining with the thiol group of another to form a disulfide bridge, either linking two peptide chains together, as in the case of insulin, or causing a single peptide chain to fold back on itself, making a loop. This latter effect on the secondary structure of proteins is evidently of great importance in maintaining the proper configuration of both structural proteins and enzymes. Two cysteine molecules linked together by a disulfide linkage make up the amino acid cystine, often occurring as a separate entry in lists of common amino acids. A major complication of cystinuria, an inherited metabolic disease, one of whose symptoms is a twentyfold to thirtyfold increase in urinary excretion of cystine, is the precipitation of this relatively insoluble amino acid in the kidney, impairing its function. A similar sort of renal failure often accompanies cystinosis, another inherited disease. Cystine was isolated from a urinary calculus in 1810 and from horn tissue in 1899. The reduction of cystine to cysteine was reported in 1884, and the structures of the two amino acids were proved by chemical synthesis in 1903閳?. Neither cysteine nor cystine is essential to the diet of man; cystine and cysteine are interconvertible, and cysteine is made in the body from serine and methionine.

I just learned that human hair from China (Cysteine) is a common food additive. I am grossed out! Is it true

Yes, and no. Cysteine is an amino acid that is a part of the DNA code. It is not classified as an essential amino acid because the human body is capable of producing it on its own. Cysteine additives are sometimes introduced to food products, and one way that food-grade cysteine is produced is to hydrolyze the molecules in human hair, feathers, and pig bristles. Hydrolysis is a chemical process that breaks apart the individual molecules in a substance -- such that it no longer resembles the substance. There have been developed newer methods of production that don't involve human hair.

How do you keep human hair weaves moisturized, and tangle-free?

Try not to comb it whilst wet. Avoid using too many oils, sheens, holding sprays etc. Try light polishers it gives the hair sheen and also keeps it soft. Try not to regularly use heated appliances such as straightners and tongs this dries out the hair a lot. Try wrapping your hair to maintain a style. It's also fact that none of the human hair that can be bought is tangle-free they all loose their movement after a while I'm afraid. Buying good quality human hair may also help. Let me know if you need anymore advice.

How thick is a human hair in micrometres?

The diameter of a human hair does not have a standard value since different people have different hair structures. Your genetic makeup can cause the width of your hair to differ from that of other people. Hair color is also a big factor. Black hair is thicker than is red hair. The weather can also affect the diameter of a hair strand. As the weather gets warmer, the diameter of body hair increases. Age is another factor. Babies and young children have finer hair than adults. As a person grows up, their hair becomes thicker and stronger. Another factor is that, the closer to the root of the hair, the thicker a strand of hair would be.

In my research, I have found the diameter of human hair to range from 17 to 181 纰宮 (millionths of a meter).

I just got curly human hair extensions and I plan to keep them for at least a month.?

I need ideas on how to take care of it. they're medium length, and I don't want them to get frizzy too soon. Help please!!!

I just got curly human hair extensions and I plan to keep them for at least a month.?

After washing your hair, use AFTER PARTY, a BED HEAD product. Apply it to damp hair, blow dry. I also put it in when my hair is dry sometimes just to smooth it out. I have extensions and this is the best stuff ever! I've been using it forever and would never use anything different.

What's the best brand of human hair for weaving to use? I keep getting hair that gets dried out

i live in las vegas n.v, id really appreciate it if someone can recommend a few brands?

thank u!

What's the best brand of human hair for weaving to use? I keep getting hair that gets dried out %26amp; tangles?

I recommend Milky Way,World's Finest 100% Human Hair.I've used it before and it was superb!

What's the best brand of human hair for weaving to use? I keep getting hair that gets dried out %26amp; tangles?

i love black diamond. never tangles and looks natural. its also so soft to the touch.

the key is the more money u spend on the hair the better quality u get. always opt for prices $30 and up for a pack and see the difference.

What's the best brand of human hair for weaving to use? I keep getting hair that gets dried out %26amp; tangles?

Try Zury Twin Curl, or Zury Ultra Twin Curl weave. You know how Kim Kardashian always has this gorgeous, shiny, pre-curled hair? I had it once when my beautician advised me to go get it. It's a tad bit more pricey, but you get awesome results. It stays curly, never tangles, and never loses its luster. I swear by it! I've given you Kim's pic to show you what it does and also a link to show you what it looks like. Trust me, you'll love it. I guarantee! Also, find a local shop to buy it, that link is a little MORE pricey than ususal...

What's the best brand of human hair for weaving to use? I keep getting hair that gets dried out %26amp; tangles?

Remy Indian Hair this is what Beyonce and Mary J. Blidge, and Tyra Banks uses.

What's the best brand of human hair for weaving to use? I keep getting hair that gets dried out %26amp; tangles?

I do agree that the Zury Twin Curl is a good brand to use. It keeps its shape and at least you dont have to apply a lot of products to keep it curly. I know in drier climates, it would hold up really well. In my opinion, I try to use the "real hair" like custom. I order my hair from Lugo's here in NY when I want a really straight look. But when I want to switch up, I will turn to the store brand. And you get what you pay for, the good brands always go for at least $30 per pack. And the touch tests never fails. If they wont let you open the pack and rub it in between your fingers--then keep moving.

Good Luck,

Ever used Bohyme Human Hair ?

Ever used Bohyme Human Hair ?

Will miracle grow make human hair fall out?

It's highly acid, but I doubt it will make hair fall out. It sure won't grow any either!

Will miracle grow make human hair fall out?

While some hair fall daily is natural, stress, hairstyle products and lack of nutrition can cause excessive hair fall as listed at http://tinyurl.com/kshvn . By changing your lifestyle and using herbal remedies, you can reduce hair loss. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/py7z4 .

Why does my remy human hair piece blow up like it is full of air around my shoulders i hate it pleas

Is it too big? My synthetic piece did that and I had to tighten it by sewing the stretchy band parts by your nape. Sometimes mine does that when I'm sweaty, wearing a coat, or if it's dirty.

Hope that helps.

Where dose the human hair used for extensions come from? Is it only donated or what?

the better quality ones r human hair rest are syn.

Where dose the human hair used for extensions come from? Is it only donated or what?

i heard it comes from dead people or willing donors but im not sure if its right

Where dose the human hair used for extensions come from? Is it only donated or what?

some human hair extensions are actually made by machines. if you ever buy a pack of human hair on a track you can sometimes see little strands of plastic or thread with the hair because of it being made by a machine. i think the "human hair" is just made to be like human hair meaning you can wash, curl, blow dry, comb, and brush the hair, but that hair thats like $1200 is most likely really human hair donated or what not.

Where dose the human hair used for extensions come from? Is it only donated or what?

Human hair often comes from very poor places such as Russia or eastern-europe. The girls sell their hair for a couple of dollars so they can afford a meal. Don't get hair extensions.

Where dose the human hair used for extensions come from? Is it only donated or what?

you can donate it while you are alive or you can make sure it goes after you die.

donating your body to science is a wonderful thing. it's the least i can do to help.

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

It's true! A common ingredient in commercial bread is L-Cysteine. It's normally obtained from China and is created from hair! Chinese companies use hair from humans and animals to make the junk.

For those who don't believe me I'd suggest you do a little homework and search L-Cysteine for yourself.

Edit:

To the person below me%26lt;g%26gt;, it's used as a 'dough conditioner'. What it does is keep the dough from pulling back on itself before baking. A good example would be a pizza crust that you roll out to the edge of the pan and then pulls back a bit.

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

you shoud rewrite the question as it's kinda confusing.

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

i have heard about this too. they process human hair and use it in baked goods. i'm not sure what it's function is though.

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

That is what you call some hairy bread...I usually bake some hair in my bread, but that is usually an accident...I didn't know it was a food supplement..LOL

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

yes i have read that book.thank u remind me

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

Uh, no.

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

What?

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

That question doesn't make sense gramatically or technically.

Bread is yeast risen. Human hair has lots of buggies that could culture out and spoil the yeast strains used in bread, so instead of USING human hair, the companies that bake bread go to EXTREME LENGTHS to not allow contaniments in the yeast strains they use.

I don't know who makes this crap up but they usually don't know squat about what they are trying to get people upset about.

Is that really human hair is been extract and used to make bread in Amerika?

No way Borat

Doe's anyone know where you can get real human hair extention's?

Normal extension retailers should be able to advise you.

Afro-carribean hair salons could also be useful?

Doe's anyone know where you can get real human hair extention's?

My personal opinion, grow it out. I don't want to sound like the crabby mother or anything, but getting real human hair extensions is stupid. Now, getting extensions out of synthetic, thats ok. It looks just as great, and you can go to greatlengths.com (I think thats right).

Think of it this way.. hair extensions made of synthetic hair can give you temporary long hair...hair extensions made of real human hair, can be used to make a wig for a child with lukeimia going through chemotherapy.

Stay with synthetic, leave the real hair for those who NEED it.

Doe's anyone know where you can get real human hair extention's?

Try www.funkydo.com.

How much are human hair extensions that are 18-20 inches long?

This is for a full head.

How much are human hair extensions that are 18-20 inches long?

The rule is: The longer, smoother and lighter the hair the more expensive the hair. You do not want cheap hair. It tangles, breaks and is literally a headache. Look to spend anywhere from $400-800 on hair alone for good quality.

How much are human hair extensions that are 18-20 inches long?

Speaking as a professional hair stylist you can find really good human hair extentions that run anywhere from $70-$110

sometimes mor than that depending on what brand of hair and where you get it from

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

Yes. You should not dye your cat's hair.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

yea ity hurts their skin

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

thats inhuman... why would you want to do that?

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

It's not a good idea because cats lick their fur a lot.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

Of course it will, cat hair is very sensitive, it grows to keep them from cold, and it sheds to keep them cool when its hot.

Do not apply any human products to an animal, thats cruel.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

but ur cat will hurt you for sure

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

Oh my yes...I think at cat salons they use vegetable dye...dont try it...get it done proffessionally if you have to.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

More than likely. Why would you want to do that anyway?

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

you should never put human dye on a cat...it contains all sorts of chemicals that are not made to be put on animals...you may harm them or make them sick...if you are interested in dying your pet's fur there are certain pet dyes..ask a pet groomer or a vet

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

yes, why not dye your hair instead

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

why would you want to die your cat? he wasn't meant to be dyed and i don't think he'd like it too much anyway. Plus if he licks his fur he might ingest the dye and that wouldn't be good.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

are you kidding me,the warning signs on the box tells you it could burn your hair, and you want to do your cat.STUPIDITY SHOULD HURT

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

Yes! It's toxic to a cat. Your cat will lick it's fur, so basically it's going to be putting hair dye into it's stomach.

DON'T dye your cats fur whatever you do...that's really cruel.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

he will go crazy if he is like my white cat whom i dyed pink and he went nuts

i assumed that he wanted to rip off the pink skin and escape but he kept running aroung himself like they do when chase the tail

it was awesome but a little sad to him

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

lol! ...I think so...but cats ALWAYS look better with their ORIGINAL coating!!

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

While you might be tempted to change the color of your cat's fur, using human hair dye on your cat is dangerous.

If it got into the cats eyes, the cat could be blinded or suffer permanent eye damage.

There is also the issue of the chemical ingrediants in human hair dye that absorb through the skin.

On human beings, the levels are low enough to not be a problem, but on a cat, it could make it very sick.

Not to mention, it could cause a very serious skin irratation.

I would highly recommend, for the sake of your cat, that you just allow you cat to be the way it is.

Your cat will thank you for it.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

yes, cats have very sensitive skin and human hair dye will burn them,a also they won't enjoy the washout either. Don't do it, its animal cruelty.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

what the heck is wrong with you?

Never die an animals fur.. Its cruel %26amp; it hurts them

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

In the book, Why Paint Cats (http://www.whypaintcats.com/) they say that some cats prefer to lay on things that are similiar in color to them and after dying some of these cats, they were very confused about where to lay down. I have known a black and white cat that would only lay on black and white blankets. It would have been very mean to dye her pink and make her not feel safe on her blankets. Please consider that before you dye his/her fur

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

In the first place, why do you need to dye your cats hair? I'm not really sure if that would hurt their skin but I'm sure that it is not right to put a human hair dye to the fur of the cats.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

Good chance that the chemicals will burn his skin. Cats are not humans and can't tolerate many chemicals that humans or even dogs can. Both aspirin and tea tree oil are toxic and can be fatal to cats.

PLEASE DON'T!

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

Probably. Cat's skin is not like human skin, and there are already warnings on hair dye about allergic reactions. Besides how would you actually go about doing it? Are you going to hold your cat the entire time, through it's struggling and all that, with slimey fur and gloves on your hands because you wouldn't be able to let the animal go for fear of ingesting the harmful chemicals, right? You were thinking about THAT right? No? Probably not.

Grow up. You don't dye your cat's fur, you dye your own hair. Your pet is not a fashion accessory you can change to match your outfit.

If i dye my cats hair w/ human hair dye will it hurt him?

Do it! I did it to my five cats...orange, red, green, and blue. It's like living in a creamsicle factory!!

What causes static in human hair?

when there are low levels of humidity in the atmosphere..

the hair has very little moisture in it...

when you touch or brush it..it causes small electric charges

( non harmful ones)..and the hair responds by being drawn to the eletrical charge by fanning out...

same idea when walking on a carpet %26amp; then touching a surface..sometimes you get a little shock.

What causes static in human hair?

Conditioner. Hair dryers Irons anything that uses electicity/

What causes static in human hair?

electricity.

What causes static in human hair?

electricity if you blow up a balloon and rub it on your head it will make an electric charge that will make your hair stand up and the balloon will stick to the wall.

What causes static in human hair?

Dry cold winter months

Going from cold to warm and back again

static in clothing not fabric softened

Wearing a hat with synthetic materials

Fine hair just gets that way because the cuticle of the hair is so thin as well

When you moisturize your hands, rub lotion into hands well, leaving no wet product then run hands thru hair. Takes static away. also fabric sheets will do the job too, smell but it works.

you can use shine therapy / shine drops etc...from matrix biosilk and other brands...spritz on hands rub in and work in from ends to almost root.

What causes static in human hair?

When you brush through your hair fast, it creates static. That's because if your hair is very dry, the electron from the whatever you brushed through your hair (fingers, hair-brush) transfer to your hair strands. Since electrons repel each other, the strands now want to repel each other, hence static electricity in human hair.

How fast does human hair grow in MPH?

Wow. I grossly miscalculated my first guess.

The correct answer is: (approximate) 1.11347E-8 MPH.

=

(Using dimensional analysis): .5/(29.53*12*5280*24)

..that is: (.5 inches of growth per month) * (1 month per 29.53 days) * (1 foot per 12 inches) * (1 mile per 5280 feet) * (1 day per 24 hours) = equals units of Miles per Hour.

thanks for the pickup!

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

my boyfriends dog has dandruff, so I want to know if I can grease its scalp

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

Depending on the dog's coat type, regular brushing can help bring out the coat's natural oils and greatly reduce the dander. There are also some topical solutions you can get from your vet. Don't ever use human products on animals.

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

no i dont think so........ they have dry skin shampoo for dogs.

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

Umm.. Go to your vet.. That grease can cause skin irritations and stuff.

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

Worked as a dog bather for a few years, I wouldn't EVER put grease on a dog...the best thing is to use an oatmeal or hypoallergenic shampoo and a conditioner. Do not bathe the dog too often, that will also dry the skin. Petsmart carries some great shampoos for dandruff. The only human shampoo that you could use (even though you should never use human shampoo), is herbal essence. Make sure you use a conditioner and let the conditioner soak for 5-10 minutes if possible.

Hope this helps. With some breeds and coats you will always have some dandruf, and the more you rub, scrub, or brush the dog, the worse it will get. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

No, give the dog a bath with a dandruff shampoo for animals

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

ewwww,,,,, no.... do not put 'grease' on his scalp! are you crazy! thats discutsing? who even puts grease on their own scalp!????????? thats really really really really really really gross. why would you ever even consider that?

Your dog needs to be brushed to stimulate natural oil, and he needs a hypoallergenic, or a dry skin dog shampoo.

Wash him with that, and if theres no imporvment, its worse, or severe, take him to a vet or groomer.

What is a compound hair follicle in human hair?

I'm studying Beauty Therapy

What is a compound hair follicle in human hair?

Hair loss can be a traumatic side effect of chemotherapy, but an experimental compound may offer new hope for cancer patients.

Researchers at pharmaceutical company Glaxo Wellcome Inc. report in a recent issue of Science that the compound, rubbed into the skin of rodents, prevented hair loss in up to 50 percent of rats treated with it. The compound still is in early stage experiments, and has not yet been tested in humans.

Currently, there is no effective prevention for such hair loss, also known as chemotherapy-induced alopecia, which typically occurs a few weeks after chemotherapy is first given. Many anti-cancer drugs work by killing cells that divide rapidly but the drugs cannot distinguish between tumor cells and the normal epithelial cells in the hair follicle, which also divide quickly.

In the 1980s, doctors had tried to chill the head with a turban of ice during treatment to temporarily reduce the flow of blood containing chemotherapy to the scalp, but results were mixed. The new compound works by temporarily suspending cell division in the hair follicle and stopping the activity of cyclin-dependent kinase 2 or CDK2, an enzyme that controls a key step in cell division.

In this way, the chemotherapy drugs will not target the hair follicle cells. "We've blocked cell division in the hair follicle and blocked the process of cell death," said Stephen Davis, lead author of the article and a senior research investigator at Glaxo Wellcome in Research Triangle Park, N.C.

Most chemotherapy patients experience hair loss, which lasts during the entire four to six months of treatment. It usually takes about six to eight weeks for humans to begin regrowing their hair after chemotherapy, making for a long period during which they are self-conscious.

"This is exciting, because patients, especially female patients, say the biggest problem with going through chemotherapy is hair loss, despite other problems like anemia and vomiting," said Dr. LaMar McGinnis, senior medical consultant for the American Cancer Society and a surgical oncologist in Atlanta. "Hair loss is an externally visible sign that the patient is a cancer patient, so this could offer great relief to them."

In an accompanying news story in Science, cancer researcher Stephen Friend of Rosetta Inpharmatics Inc. of Kirkland, Wash., said after nausea and vomiting, loss of image is one of the major side effects of chemotherapy. "Keeping that image intact has a lot to do with fighting the disease," Friend said.

The Glaxo Wellcome compound was tested in newborn rats that also were given either the anti-tumor chemotherapy drug etoposide or a combination of cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin, drugs typically given for breast and lung cancer. In the case of etoposide, Davis said 50 percent of the animals retained more than 50 percent of their hair. And in the case of the drug combination, 33 percent of the rats retained 50 percent or more of their hair.

Davis said the reason the drugs didn't work in 100 percent of the rats is that there is variation in response to drugs among rats. The researchers also tested the compound in special mice by implanting human scalp onto their backs. The compound acted to inhibit cell division in the hair follicles of the scalp.

Davis said more tests are needed to determine the safety and efficacy of the compound before it is tested in humans, but so far, it appears to have no side effects. He said Glaxo Wellcome has not yet decided on its next move with the compound. McGinnis said he hopes the compound will move through clinical trials and be approved soon, as it will help cancer patients with their image.

Who will buy human hair in st louis missouri?

ya i agree locks of love needs hair for kids with cancer

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

This should answer your question

There are four main types of hair used in wig making: Chinese, Indian, Indonesian and European.

Most human hair wigs are made with Chinese or Indian hair.

European hair is the strongest but is not so easily available and is more expensive.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

From humans. :]

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

i agree...

with humans!

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

human hair!

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

Hence.......... Humans! Mostly Humans from China...........

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

things like locks of love...its actual human hair

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

It comes from human cadavers.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

Some, like for Locks of Love, come from hair that people donate to make wigs for Cancer patients who lost their hair due to Chemotherapy . Like if a woman has waist length hair and then decides she wants a chin-length bob and wants to donate the rest, her beautician will put a ponytail in her hair at the length she wants to keep and then cut right above it and donate the ponytail to the charity.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

are you kidding me FROM humans!!

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

A lot of it comes from Thailand. They get it from live people in places where people don't put any chemicals on their hair.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

Not dead people. When people get their hair cut they can donate it to make wigs. Only if it's nice untreated hair though.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

haha yeh. people with really long hair that get it cut can donate it or even sell it to wig and extensions makers, providing its in good condition!

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

Most donated hair comes from China or Middle Eastern countries. Because most women there let their hair grow long and do not color or perm it, it is healthy enough to donate. Before the hair can be made into a wig, it has to go through many chemicals. Because a lot of people in North America and Europe color their hair, it wouldn't stand up to the process. Hair from China or Middle East is thicker in diameter, it can be chemically processed and still be useable.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

From pigs.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

Well, I know that Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that relies on volunteers to cut their hair and give it away. And there are other places that do the same.

Where does the "human hair" on wigs and in extensions come from?

The Hair is usually from India. Indian women often sell there hair in order to cleanse there spirits. And to gain Money. It doesn't come from dead people, Al thought the hair it self is dead.

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

We all know it changes to white with age , But what happens in the sculp to change the color ?

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

As people age the pigment loses its colour.

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

stress

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

the loss of melanin.

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

Children!!!!!!!! LOL

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

It comes from the brain and go to the scalp and from the scalp to the hair. Its called WISDOM baby.

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

as you get older, your hair starts to fail to produce melanin, that gives color to your hair. The result is white hair.

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

the hair loses its pigmentation - I have heard this can be due to lack of nutrients, but it probably more likely to be genetic.

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

melanin is what gives your hair it's youthful colour. as you age, your body slows down its production of melanin as it begins to concentrate its lessening resources on other more essential processes (e.g. hydrating your organs rather than your skin).

different hairs over your body will lose melanin at different rates i.e. men will get a silverish tint on their head before they get white hairs on their chest.

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

It's not white it's colourless

What makes the human hair change to white ( The process )?

when hair grows it is made of dead cells that your body doesn't need , i think that gray or white hair is like that because the place where your hair grows isn't getting anof of what it needs to make the colours and so grows Gray,(but this is a guess because i hired the answer somewhere but i can remember it lol)

also if your stressed you can go Gray sooner or have the odd Gray hair

you can go Gray any age and you can go Gray from other situations to.

p.s don't worry if you do go Gray young or any time because you can always tiy your hair back to the right colour

I want 2 get my hair braided w/ curly human hair & in SMALL not micro braids. how much hair do i

if your getting them done in small braids,

[im guessing cornrows??]

go to a place like sally's beauty supply, and just grab one bag of hair. if they are a good braider, that should be more then enough,

if your hair is longer, then grab 2.

my hair was about 6 inches long when i braided it and i added hair, and it turned out great.

although i do suggest you try fake hair first, they have all sorts of colors to match hair types, some people find it uncomfterable after awhile when you have human hair in.

Good Luck.

sorry if i couldnt help.

I want 2 get my hair braided w/ curly human hair %26amp; in SMALL not micro braids. how much hair do i need?

I want 2 get my hair braided w/ curly human hair %26amp; in SMALL not micro braids. how much hair do i need?

You should talk to the person whom will be braiding your it all has to do with how long your hair is .

I want 2 get my hair braided w/ curly human hair %26amp; in SMALL not micro braids. how much hair do i need?

You'll need about 3 packs or maybe even four. Look good girl!

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

or just cut short

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

neither just put a cap over it. A special wig cap that's all

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

Neither. Unless you have thick hair, then you might have to have it shorter. If it is not to thick, it is easier to have it a bit longer so you can wrap it up under it.

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

cap it or tie it back

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

if you hair wig is short hair and your own hair also short...no need to be bald... either way...you can tie you hair...

in other words...you have two type of hair.... not everyone effort to buy a human hair wig...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

You don't need to have it shaved or cut, unless you have very thick hair, then you should trim it a little bit. I work at wig shop and most of the people who buy wigs have their own growing hair already. They just want to look different.

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

you don't have to shave your head to wear a wig. Just use a netting to put your hair up so that it doesn't interfere with the wig.

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

It all depends on the style of the wig, but you definetly don't need to be bald. You can pin your hair in a "wrap" style by brushing your hair in a circular fashion around your head. I have thick-medium hair length and this works for me.

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

not necessarily .. . . but i think you should keep your hair short to make it more easier to maintain a wig

To wear a human hair wig does my head need to be shaved bald?

no I have a friend that wears them sometimes she braids her hair and puts a cap over it

I just got human hair braids and im goin 2 a waterpark this weekend...Is that gonna damage them in any way???

it may loosen them a little bit, but you'll be alright because its human hair, but also it depends how tight your braids are, if their already loose then you might want to wear a swimming cap, which you should do anyway, you dont have to look all cute, your just goin' to have fun, right?

I just got human hair braids and im goin 2 a waterpark this weekend...Is that gonna damage them in any way???

Yeah, it will damage your braids, it'll get nappy and you are gonna walk around the park lookin' like beyonce in her de ja vu video.you can still go swimmin' just watch out for the hair. and so it isn't awkward, if some one asks why you ain't gettin that wet, make it a joke and say:"don't mess up my weave!"lol

my boyfriends dog has dandruff, so I want to know if I can grease its scalp

Can you put human hair gease on a dogs scalp?

Depending on the dog's coat type, regular brushing can help bring out the coat's natural oils and greatly reduce the dander. There are also some topical solutions you can get from your vet. Don't ever use human products on animals.

Best brand of human hair for a white girl ?

If you're referring to human hair extensions, you'll need to look at swatches or samples of the brand. There are so many brands out there, I can't really think of one that's considered "the best". The salon I work at does carry a good brand though, called Balmain. Some of the better brands of human hair extensions can only be purchased through a salon, so if you want the best, I wouldn't advise buying the kind you buy and apply yourself. Look at the swatches, feel them, if they're silky and shiney, they're good.

Best brand of human hair for a white girl ?

I think black or brown is the best colour for a white girl. I love these 2 colours and my hair is dark brown.

Thanks

After care of Human Hair extensions using the glue/bond method??

I know not to use conditioner on the roots and dont comb when wet, what else can I do to keep them from falling out so soon??

After care of Human Hair extensions using the glue/bond method??

Do not Shampoo for 48 hours after completing . This includes the initial service as well as maintenance services.

-Tilt your head back and cleanse from the top of the head downward. Avoid facing your head downward.

-Condition and detangle only from mid-strand to end, avoiding the scalp areas.

-Do not dry with a scrubbing motion, but instead wrap hair with a towel to remove moisture.

- Always dry the base area thoroughly to avoid bond breakdown. Use medium to low heat when air forming and finish with cool air once the hair is completely dry.

-Use recommended Great Lengths products. (Get the listing of recommended and available Great Lengths products from the Great Lengths distributor.)

-Do not use products that contain sulfur, such as dandruff shampoos.

-Always use Anti-Tap as a final rinse.

Prior to Bedtime

-It is recommended that you braid your hair or pull it back into a soft ponytail holder or scrunchy before bed. This prevents tangling while sleeping.

Brushing %26amp; Combing

-Brush with a natural bristle brush 2-3 times daily, starting at the nape and working upward.

-Use a wide tooth comb to remove tangles from hair ends.

-Do not use a comb in the area between the scalp and the Great Lengths bonds.

Curling Irons/Hot Rollers

-Curling irons and hot rollers may be used on Great Lengths, but they must be kept an adequate distance from the Great Lengths bonds.

Swimming

-Sea water and swimming pool chemicals can cause bond breakage and decrease the longevity of the Great Lengths extensions. To minimize these effects: Prior to swimming, wet the hair completely in a shower. After swimming, immediately rinse the hair and dry the base area. Always use the Anti-Tap Final Rinse after swimming to prevent bond breakdown.

After care of Human Hair extensions using the glue/bond method??

Avoid appying any sort of hair care product that contains even the least amount of oil and also do not use heat applicances near the roots where the bond is. instead of washing it, clean the scalp with mentholated spirit every other day to avoid oil build up and wash the hair only once a week avoiding the scalp.

After care of Human Hair extensions using the glue/bond method??

If the extensions were put in correctly you shouldn't have too much falling out. I tell most of my clients to expect to lose about 10%. This is in line with normal hair loss without extensions. The problem may be the bond. Depending on what company you are using they will have different bonds (glue). Bonds are all different. I like Donna Bella Milan and So-Caps bonds the best.

Aside from the things you listed the best thing you can do is make sure they were applied correctly.

I bought a human hair wig the color is 1 shade too light is there a way i can dye it myself %26amp; with what??

if its human hair, you should be able to dye it, take it to the beauty supply store and they should be able to tell you

I bought a human hair wig the color is 1 shade too light is there a way i can dye it myself %26amp; with what??

Sure you can dye it just buy a good brand of hair dye and go for it as long as its human hair you should not have any problems..good luck

I bought a human hair wig the color is 1 shade too light is there a way i can dye it myself %26amp; with what??

The problem that I can see with this is that the hair will have come from several donors and each hair type will therefore take the dye differently. A strand test will not help because the hair will not be evenly distributed around the wig.

See a hairdresser for this one - they may be able to help, otherwise you will have to send it back or just wear it as it is.

Sorry I can't help you more.

Why is there human hair in my cat's poop?

You constantly lose hair and regrow it it ends up on the floor so when your cat licks itself on the floor it probably licks up some of the hairs or licks your hairbrush.

Why is there human hair in my cat's poop?

Your cat probably picks up stray hairs that have fallen out of your head or maybe from your hair brush. Unless the cat starts acting funny, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Why is there human hair in my cat's poop?

lol this question is funny...... but serious

she might be growing human hair in her stomach

Why is there human hair in my cat's poop?

if there's human hair on the floor which isn't regularly swept up your cat could be accidentally ingesting this. Happens to my cat so I have to sweep house frequently because my girlfriend's hair is long and my cat has accidentally eaten some.

How much are human hair extensions from sallys?

do they really sell human hair?

How much are human hair extensions from sallys?

I got mine at Ace Beauty, they cost about $36 for 6 clip in extensions. I think it's probably cheaper to just buy the hair %26amp; then add the clips yourself,or put them in however you want(glue, braids etc.) I love mine, I use them as highlights, very pretty.

The good part about human hair extensions is that you can do anything with them, they can be chemically treated, heat styled, etc. Just try to take care of them so that they last longer.

How much are human hair extensions from sallys?

If your from Northeast Wisconsin then they range from $8.99 for 'mid quality' 8 inches of yaky bulk to $52.00 for 24 inch 'Janet' brand tracks. Don't quote me on it but I don't know if Sally's sells human hair or not. I guess I should check that out sometime soon.

How much are human hair extensions from sallys?

Hi i bought my hair extensions from sallys the other day and they cost 鎷?5.99 each i bought two sets but they last for ages the human hair is far better hope this helps. Ps clips already sewn on and attached x

How much are human hair extensions from sallys?

in ireland there 20 euro a strip and you need 3 to 5 strips

How much are human hair extensions from sallys?

Sally's near me (East London) sell them for far more than the local shops that specialise in hair extensions (in the main Afro hair and beauty shops). Sally's only is an option if you have a Sally card - which you can get if you are a qualified beautician of any description (hairdresser, nail technician etc). Without the card, you pay retail price plus VAT which cn bump up the costs you see on the shelves quite a lot.

Ebay have some great online shops that sell extensions and they are very resonably priced too.

Good luck with your hair hunting.

Is there any human hair already styled this way? Serious Answers Please?

When I was looking for pictures of what I wanted my sew-in to look like my stylist told me that to get that look all I need was straight hair and she would cut it and style it just like the picture. She also told me that if I got the wavy hair it might not turn out like it looked in the pic. My best advice for you is to get 14 inch hair(remy if you can afford it/ or milky way which is a great brand of hair with a great price) and take it and your picture to your stylist and let her do her magic. Also ask how can you maintain the look as well...I have had my for two months and it still looks great!!!! Hope I helped!!!! Be Blessed

Synthetic or human hair extensions?

I'm talking about temporary extensions like Hairdo by Ken Paves. Which ones should I get?

Synthetic or human hair extensions?

GO for human extensions for sure. Synthetic hair looks fake. Have you seen those girls walking around with the fake clip on ponytails? They look like jacka**es! With real hair you can color, cut and style however you want. If you want something less permanent, Jessica SImpson has a line of clip- ins that are awesome. All the pics of her with long hair- she has them in!!

Synthetic or human hair extensions?

Definitely human! Synthetic can cause breakouts. Take it from someone who knows.

Synthetic or human hair extensions?

it depends on if you want to style it- you cant use heat on the synthetic ones like you can with real hair. another thing to consider is the price it is about 100 for the synthetic and 500 for real so its up to you on if you will use them a lot and if you want to restyle or not. but they both will look good and natural. i really like them

Synthetic or human hair extensions?

Human for sure! Once they're on, you can't tell them from your regular hair. You can wash it and style it just like it's your real hair. I did it and I loved it. If you get them fused onto your hair though, it will be difficult to sleep the first few nights as you will feel all of the different spots where the the extension is fused on. Once you get them, you will probably love them and want to keep them.

Synthetic or human hair extensions?

Human hair for sure, but those Ken Paves clipins are a waste of money. I've made 3 sets of clip in extensions for myself at like $30 a set.

Do mice like human hair or anything similar?

Do mice like human hair or anything similar?

Probably both. They chew away at anything even plastic cable covers.

Do mice like human hair or anything similar?

You can buy hamster bedding into the pet shop. Its more expensive though. I used plain white cotton balls or newspaper black and white only or white paper towels. don't use things with bright colors the dyes can cause cancer.Don't use cloth the threads get caught on their feet.Good luck with mousie

Do mice like human hair or anything similar?

just to let you know you shouldnt use cotton balls, they might eat it and it wraps around in the intestines and can kill them, they can also get their feet stuck x x x

Do mice like human hair or anything similar?

The like to use soft materials to make nests, and not just for raising young. The make bedding areas out of whatever you give them that's soft, like tissue or cloth . . .

Do mice like human hair or anything similar?

I would think they would use it for bedding

No self-respecting kitty is going to lick more than one lick of shampoo. It tastes too bad. The kitty is fine unless you start to notice odd symptoms like seizure, foaming mouth, unsteady walking and refusal to feed or drink.

She'll be okay. Get your shampoo someplace where she can't reach it.

How do animal hairs differ from the human hair?

Plz help!!! I will give u best answer if it is detailed and got information that is useful!!! thanks

How do animal hairs differ from the human hair?

Animals have fur and people have hair. Your eyebrows are considered fur and you can tell it's different from your hair. Fur is generally coarser and doesn't continue to grow like hair or your dog would need a haircut every 4 weeks. That's the best I can do!

How do animal hairs differ from the human hair?

The structure of animal hair is different. Place your question in Science and you're more likely to get a technical answer. Hairdressers are taught about human hair structure, but not animal hair. I learned just a little bit about animal hair in a science class, but not enough for a good answer.

How do animal hairs differ from the human hair?

hypoalergenic dogs have hair not fur....like poodles and bishon's

What is human hair madeup of?

Hair is an outgrowth of protein, found only on mammals. It projects from the epidermis, though it grows from hair follicles deep in the dermis. Although many other organisms, especially insects, show filamentous outgrowths, these are not considered "hair". So-called "hairs" (trichomes) are also found on plants. The projections on arthropods, such as insects and spiders are actually insect bristles, composed of a polysaccharide called chitin. The hair of non-human mammal species is commonly referred to as fur. There are varieties of cats, dogs, and mice bred to have little or no visible fur. In some species, hair is absent at certain stages of life.

The primary component of hair fiber is keratin. Keratins are proteins: long chains (polymers) of amino acids.

Human Hair are slender, threadlike outgrowth of the epidermis. Each strand of hair is composed of a scleroprotein called keratin and lacks both blood vessels and nerves. What is human hair made of?

Hair, collective term for slender, threadlike outgrowths of the epidermis of mammals, forming a characteristic body covering. No animals other than mammals have true hair, and all mammals have hair. Even such apparently hairless mammals as the rhinoceros, elephant, and armadillo have hairs around the snout, at the tip of the tail, and behind each scale, respectively. (Whales and manatees have hair only in the embryonic state.) When the individual hairs are fine and closely spaced, the coat of hair is called fur; when soft, kinked, and matted together, the coat is called wool. Coarse, stiff hairs are called bristles. When bristles are also pointed, as in the hedgehog and porcupine, they are called spines or quills.

Individual hairs are composed chiefly of the horny scleroprotein known as keratin and contain neither blood vessels nor nerves. They usually contain pigment (except in the case of albinos), and sometimes they also contain interstitial air bubbles that give the hair a silvery color. The shaft of the hair consists of modified epithelial cells arranged in columns surrounding a central medulla (or core) and covered with thin, flat scales. The root of each hair is contained in a tubular pit of the epidermis called the hair follicle. The hair grows from the bottom of the follicle. It is nourished by the blood vessels in a papilla that extends into the follicle and, for a short distance, into the root of the hair. A minute muscle, the arrector pili, is attached to each hair follicle; under the control of the autonomic nervous system the muscle contracts to make the hair 閳ユ笩tand on end.閳?Most mammals possess tactile hairs, usually growing from the upper lip and eyebrows, with their roots set in erectile tissue richly supplied with sensory nerves.

In humans the development of the hair begins in the embryo, and by the sixth month the fetus is covered by a growth of fine hair, the lanugo. In the first few months of infancy the lanugo is shed and is replaced by hair, relatively coarse over the cranium and the eyebrows, but fine and downy over the rest of the body. At puberty coarse hair develops in the armpits and over the pubic region in both sexes; in males facial hair begins to grow coarse to form the beard. The rate of growth of the hair varies with the age of the person and with the length of the hair. When a hair is short, its rate of growth averages about 2 cm (about 鑱?in) per month; by the time the hair is a foot long, the rate of growth is reduced by one-half. The fastest growth is found in women from 16 to 24 years of age.

The form of the hair is one of the most important and reliable hereditary characteristics. The nearly black hair of the African, Papuan, and Melanesian grows from a curved follicle, which imparts a spiral twist, and is flat or tapelike in cross section. The hair of the Chinese, Japanese, and Native American is straight, coarse, and almost always black; it grows from a straight follicle, is round in cross section, and has an easily distinguished medulla. The hair of the European, Semite, and Ainu is wavy and intermediate between the straight and curly types; growing from a straight follicle, it nevertheless has a slight tendency to curl, is oval in cross section, and exhibits a range of color from light blond to black.

Disorders of the hair shaft or hair follicle cause abnormal growth or abnormal or premature falling of the hair. Certain abnormal conditions such as dull or dry hair are caused by physical or chemical agents. Too frequent use, for instance, of permanent-waving chemicals or of shampoos or lotions, especially those containing alcohol or free alkalies, often causes such conditions. The cause of excessive hairiness is obscure, but in several cases it has been traced to tumor of the adrenal cortex or to disorders of the pituitary gland, the thyroid gland, or the ovary. Premature graying of the hair is associated with anxiety, shock, deficiency diseases, and, in certain cases, hereditary elements.

Alopecia, or baldness, is also due principally to hereditary elements. Certain forms of baldness may, however, be due to other causes: alopecia prematura, in which the hair of a young person falls out without preliminary graying, may also be caused by seborrhea; while alopecia areata, in which the hair falls out in irregular patches, is believed by doctors to be caused by inflammation, nerve disorders, or local infections. Diffuse falling of the hair, ordinarily a normal phenomenon, may reach abnormal proportions after a fever higher than 39.4鎺?C (103鎺?F), during a debilitating disease, or as a result of invasive surgical procedures. No nonprescription hair 閳ユ笧estorers閳?actually prevent hair loss or grow hair. A drug called minoxidil, however, has shown some effectiveness in treating men and women with hereditary baldness.

Infections of the hair follicle also cause a variety of hair diseases. Tinea favosa, or favus, is caused by the fungus Achorion schoenleinii; it is characterized by the formation around the mouths of the follicles of small crusts, which frequently resemble a honeycomb. Tinea trichophytina, or ringworm, is caused by fungi of the genus Trichophyton. These diseases have been treated successfully by epilation (removal of the hair from the affected follicles), cleansing with soaps or oils to remove encrustation, and application of fungicides.

Hairy parts, particularly of the head and pubis, are subject to troublesome infestations by minute insects and mites, such as chiggers and lice.

What is human hair made of?

Humans are hairy.

If you think that humans are pretty hairless creatures, you're wrong. All, we mean ALL, over your body, except for your lips, palms of your hands and soles of your feet are hairs, big and small. By the time you're an adult, you're likely to have about 5 million hairs growing out of your skin -- about the same number as a gorilla! The only difference is that most of a gorilla's hair is thick and long, and most of a human's is so thin and small it is extremely hard to see. You've got to look closely!

What is hair?

Hair is made of the same stuff that's found in horse hooves, bird feathers, antlers, horns, and your cat's or dog's claws and your fingernails! It's a body protein called keratin and it grows out of a minuscule opening of the skin called a follicle.

Why is some hair curly, some hair straight?

It all depends on the shape of the follicle out of which the hair is growing. Straight hair lies flat because it's round and grows out of round follicles. Curly hair bends because its cross-section is an oval. It comes out of oval follicles.

What makes some hair dark, some light, and some entirely white?

The same chemical pigment that determines skin color -- melanin. Not having melanin in your body gives you white hair; a little makes you strawberry blond; more makes you a red-head; even more brown-haired; and even more, hair that looks blue-black. Pretty remarkable, huh?

What do goosebumps have to do with hair?

Everything! When you are chilled, or startled, you sometimes develop goosebumps. What are they? Temporary bumps on your skin caused by muscles attached to hair follicles pulling those hairs upright! Goosebumps actually serve a purpose in animals. Fluffing up fur or feathers helps trap air and make them warmer or make them look bigger and scarier. What do goosebumps do for humans? You tell us.

What does puberty have to do with hair?

As you approach puberty, you are likely to discover that several things about your body -- including patterns of body and facial hair -- are going to change. You'll start developing hairy underarms, and pubic hair.... If you're a boy, you may find yourself wanting to shave the hair on your upper lip and on your chin; if you're a girl, you may have hairy legs for the first time in your life. Puberty makes life interesting, eh?
