I personally love using hair extensions but it is really strange how almost every beauty supply store sells them but from whom are they getting all the hair. A friend questioned if the hair is removed form corpses just after they die. I have heard of people selling their hair but I can't imagine that many people are selling their hair to get the great quantities that are sold everyday, all over the world.

In Eastern Europe for instance, in some post-soviet (and probably many other) countries with lousy economy, u can find tons of adds offering "good" price for chemically untreated long hair. Usually hair dressers buy it -women with longer hair go and have it cut there, if they r really desperate OR maybe if they just suddenly decided to change their hairstyle drastically:)

I am pretty sure it's then being exported to where the demand is big.
