I went to Barbados last summer with micro braids. Good idea I was so happy that I was able to swim everyday without trashing my hair. No prep needed but after every swim you should buy a good conditioner...I use aveda hair conditioning (it is like $29.99) after I swim. It is not heavy so it wouldnt get stuck between the braids. My real hair underneath was relaxed so I needed to make sure I treated my hair. When I came back 3 weeks later and took my braids out my hair was still like normal ----with the exception of needing to re-touch my roots---salt water will take every ounce of perm out of your hair lol. The braids lasted the entire 3 weeks I was there...I had them done 2 weeks before I went..Good luck

Some people say they slip if the hair is too silky. My sister says that yaki human hair is the best, because it has more texture, so it wont slip as easily. But I haven't experienced it. I would love to know because I'm getting micros this weekend and going to the beach next week and I dont want braids floating past me in the water either. LOL!

I would have to say NAY! I went swimming with micros, and while none of the braids fell out, the braids just were not the same. They started loosening up and got kinda frizzy, and the weave hair just didn't have the same texture afterwards. I wound up taking them right out and wasting two hundred bucks.
